The current set up had railway sleepers installed on steel RSJ posts acting as a reflective acoustic fence. This system was reducing the air flow to the chiller units causing them to overheat. The noise was also being reflected around the site and then passing over the top of this temporary noise barrier.
Our solutions was to use our Louvred Aluminium Acoustic Barriers.
To achieve the aim, Gramm Barriers came up with a system that involved taking down the railway sleeper fencing and extending the existing posts to give a 3.5m overall height. We then installed our Aluminium Louvred Acoustic Barrier which allowed the air to reach the chiller compound and cool the units. Our Aluminium system is also “absorptive” which means the noise within the compound was greatly reduced.
